Item Description
Ring has no text but is c.late 1940s or early 1950s. This example varies slightly from the example shown in the Hake Guide. The ring is stamped from one piece of brass with adjustable bands that slightly overlap. There is a raised area on the top with the center image strongly resembling the Lone Ranger and with bandanna flying to one side. A mask is not particularly evident on the ring but when it is stamped into soft material, the resulting image does give the appearance of eyes surrounded faintly by a mask. On this example, the outer corners of the raised area are rounded and the raised area has 3 tiny raised dots in the metal at each corner. On the example in the Hake guide, the 4 corners are more pointed and the raised area is done in a pair of beveled upward steps embossed into the metal rather than being completely smooth. Bright NM luster. 1st seen of this variety with corner dots. Rare.
