Item Description
Here is an ingenious, first we've seen, ring obviously a premium although we do not know the sponsor. Perhaps it was Kellogg's as the base is identical to their name ring which featured a blue translucent dome over a name with a base, like this, that includes four-leaf clover and horseshoe designs. On this piece a little luster is off one side of the base but about 80% remains. Rather than a domed top this ring has a circular piece of brass riveted to the ring base. Extending upwards from the outer edge are three pointed prongs. These hold a 5/8" dia. brass yo-yo. Each side has a paper label, lightly worn and tanned but clear, showing a cowboy on a bucking bronc. Wrapped around the interior post is a 12" long length of the original string, still in one piece but frayed and fragile. Yo-yo still has a great deal of original luster. It fits neatly within the three pointed prongs on the ring top and is then removed for use. First seen and rare. See following plastic yo-yo ring.
