Item Description
8.5x11" folder w/two printed pages. 1941. "Green Hornet Comics" was published by Helnit Comics (sometimes called Holyoke), w/writing attributed to Fran Striker. This series ended after six issues. Pictured on the front is the cover to the second issue, featuring Green Hornet putting on his mask w/Kato in bkg. Text reads "Looking Back - The Year 1940 Brought Some Things Bad, Some Things Good (As Usual) - But In The Magazine Business None Better Than Green Hornet Comics." Folder opens to promotional text about the future of the comic books in 1941. "Kable News Company" name at bottom. Unfortunately, the comic book only lasted six issues before being picked up and continued by Harvey Comics. That series ended in 1949, having run to issue #47. Folder has large 2.75x8.5" area of moisture staining along top and streak along bottom. Folded as mailed. Small penciled date at top left. VG overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 48 years.
