Item Description
Large 15.25x24" original release supplement to MGM Tarzan pressbook w/eight pages. 1934. Single-sided pages feature a vast assortment of all the "Tarzan And His Mate" tie-in items, premiums and advertising. Some highlights include - Tarzan sweaters and bathing suits, Tarzan Bread, ice cream, premium masks, paint books and puzzles, rubber novelties (hunting knife, hatchet, dagger and baseball), Big Little Book, Coca-Cola (misspelled "Coco-Cola") serving trays and signs featuring Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan's images, and much more. One page deals w/"Mary" the "Tarzan Rhino" and her traveling tour while other pages shows theaters and store Tarzan displays. Another page shows covers to several of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan books. This page has a 4x11" clip, but all other pages remain complete. Promotional theater material pictured includes - cut-outs, door hangers, lobby streamers as well as tie-ins w/boat/Johnson Sea-Horse Motor, Leica cameras and Ford V-8 automobile. Horizontal fold at center as issued w/some small tears at edges. Pages have some scattered handling wear/dust soiling. Left margin has streak of moisture staining. Staple holes along top margins w/some surface paper pulls from tape removal. VG overall. Great Tarzan content. Rare.
