Item Description
Tiny, yet elaborate brass finish metal box designed like a Punch & Judy puppet stage, the kind where the traditional, popular puppet show featuring Mr. Punch and his wife, Judy are performed. Underside has "D.G.M." stamped lettering and "38343" number. 1890s. Front side features high relief image of Punch kicking and Judy wielding her trusty wooden spoon. Back side has crank used to wind cloth tape measure that feeds out of side. When wound, tape measure interior produced musical notes. Tape measure is missing end pull and shows some lt. wear. VF. Wonderful design. Rare.
