Item Description
1.75x2.75x5/8” deep. French made and circa 1848 campaign. Hand painted color profile portrait of Taylor with name below. .25 deep x2-3/8” long darkened area at far left possibly from glue used when applying paper hinge to box base. Box is designed to appear as a small book with ribbed gold luster band across top, right side and bottom simulating page edges. Spine has embossed gold luster foil like material. Back has text “Forget Me Not” under glass with 1-5/8” crack at lower left. Interior has brass edged mirror on underside of hinged cover. Overall very clean. Julie Powell Collection.
