Item Description
9-7/8" tall wood w/paper labels. Toy No. 488 was introduced in 1939 and made for just one year. Popeye bears 1929 King Features Syndicate Inc. copyright on leg. He has separate arms that hold drumsticks and is depicted standing in front of large can of "Spinach - Come And Get It!" As toy is pulled, Popeye drums. Original pull string and wooden knob present. Labels have typical trace of aging and edge wear. Some aging to Popeye's one arm. Typical wear to wheels from use. Fine overall. Scarce.
