Item Description
First is 5.75x8.75" single sheet with two folds. This reads "The Mass On The/Day Of Burial/For/Robert Francis Kennedy/Born: November 20th, 1925/Died: June 6th, 1968/At/St. Patrick's Cathedral/New York City/May He Rest In Peace." Next with a cover designed as the previous item is 5.5x8.5" stiff covered book with eight pages for those participating in the service. Both are Exc. There is also a mass card 2.5x4" with a tiny corner crease. Next are two stiff cards 3.5x5.5" each rubber stamped with the name Philip J. Jerome and the hand written word "Train." These cards serve to "Admit One" to both the Mass and the train that carried RFK, family and mourners from NYC, through Philadelphia, Baltimore and into D.C., slowed by thousands along the tracks. There is also a 8.5x11" folded sheet titled "Memorandum To Funeral Train Passengers." This details the departure and logistics for passengers, baggage, food, hotels, and air transportation. Numerous small creases. Meant to arrive D.C. 4:30 pm, the four hour trip, because of thousand of people crowding the tracks along the route, took eight hours not arriving D.C. until 9:30pm. The Arlington ceremony began at 10:30pm. Very limited issue. Jerry Bruno Collection. Comes With Hake's COA.
