Item Description
First is 10.25" from nose to tail wood carving of running donkey with Jimmy Carter riding. Wood bucket with wire bale is held in his hand with text "Peanuts/1976" on pail. Figure stands 10.5" tall. Sits on 3.5" dia. base with Iowa carver name "J.W. Sutcliffe." Carter holds rawhide rein connected to donkey's mouth. Nicely depicted Carter smile. Unique. Figure comes with two 3.5" "Farmer Carter/1977 Inaugural" buttons with photo of this carving. One button has light spots. Other with tiny bump as made. Also included is 3.5x4.25" perforated ticket not separated. Ticket reads "Farmer's For Carter/Inaugural Party And Dance/At The International Inn/No. 10 Thomas Circle, Washington, D.C./Thursday, January 20, 1977/$35.00 Per Person/The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra/From 9 P.M. To 1 A.M." Light tanning. Last is 2x2.5" sticker with photo of carving and text "Farmer's Welcome/Jimmy And Rosalynn" below. An interesting group with a unique carving. Julie Powell Collection.
