Item Description
4-7/8x9" base features wonderful tin litho imagery of steam shovel dumping loads of sand into waiting rail cars w/factories in bkg. 14.5" tall overall, w/tin litho funnel that drops sand into dumping hopper scoop that swings out, seemingly controlled by tin litho worker seated on beam w/attached counterweight. Worker holds string connected to bottom of scoop. Patent dates listed on base are 1915-1916. Scattered wear from use w/some paint flakes to exterior of funnel and worker. Fine overall. Comes w/period tin can of sand w/tin litho scoop inside and canvas bag marked "Size No. 3 Sand - Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Co. - Makers Of 'Sandy-Andy' Toy - North Side - Pittsburgh, PA. - Made In U.S.A." NM.
