15x18" vintage wooden frame has choice photo including various players holding basketballs that has been matted to 7.5x9.25". Bottom of mat has printed caption including players' names. Fifteen nations competed in the 1956 Olympics (in Melbourne, Australia) basketball tournament, a total of 56 games being played. The US team won gold followed by the Soviet Union, who took silver and Uruguay, who took bronze. Notable players who later became NBA Hall of Famers included Bill Russell and K.C. Jones, who are shown on this photo along w/other players Tucker, Jeangerad, Ford, Halderson, Tomsic, Darling, Coogan, Hougland, Evans, Bouschaka, Walsh, King, Bock and Drake. Frame shows scattered wear but photo has nice, clear image. VF. Great presentation piece, ready for display.
