DC had already seen incredible success with modernized versions of some of their Golden Age greats like The Flash and Green Lantern, so it was only a matter of time before they went to the well one more time with Hawkman. This is his third Silver Age appearance. It also has the first appearance of a villain that would go on to torment Hawkman many times over the years, the Shadow-thief. Gardener Fox was behind the imaginative script and Joe Kubert contributes a very memorable cover as well as interior art. The pages are cream to off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 8.5 (VF+). According to the CGC Census the book is tied with one other copy as the third-highest graded copy they have seen.
