Item Description
Here is a great unlisted rarity combining the Ohio Senator's endorsement in 1900 of the man he helped make President in 1896 along with the themes of "Stand Pat" and the "Full Dinner Pail." Button has some condition problems but remains bright and glossy and is a certain rarity. Reverse is tin covered with vertical stickpin. Name of "St. Louis Button Co." is impressed on the tin back. There is staining around the perimeter which is noticeable and goes inward 3/16" at most. The surface of the celluloid also has about two dozen tiny indent marks although none actually break through the celluloid covering. While the stain is obvious from all viewpoints the indent marks show largely just in reflected light. Depicted full figure standing in front of a giant working man's lunch pail is a workman with similar pail over one arm as he holds a spade over one shoulder. Only example known to us and we've not found any previous hobby offerings. Rare.
