Auction #211 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1196 in auction 211
Item Description
The first piece is a mechanical item of sorts. It is 1.75" tall with a tin frame and cardboard insert. The tab goes into the button hole so that the item displays the "Stand Pat" slogan and then pulling the string flips up the piece to reveal the photo of "Theodore Roosevelt." Small color rubs on the portrait and a bit of surface paper damage on the text side but still overall in quite Fine condition and rare. With it comes a 1.25" button with W&H back paper showing a small American flag at center with text "Stand Pat" above and below. Nice gold accents. Rare and NM displaying Mint. Also see "Stand Pat" reference on the McKinley/Mark Hanna related item #217 & following TR item #247.
