Item Description
Group consists of three different Texas campaign buttons with a total of five duplicates. At 13/16" are a pair of buttons reading "Roosevelt/Garner/Ferguson." Miriam "Ma" Ferguson became the first woman Governor of Texas in 1924. She and her husband Jim "Pa" Ferguson had interesting political careers and "Ma" is covered in an APIC Keynoter article in the Summer 2008 issue. These two buttons show some spotting on the white paint areas with a couple of small paint rubs but are overall in Fine condition. With these come four buttons for Ma's 1932 opponent reading "Orville Bullington For Governor." These are Exc. Also included are two additional 15/16" lithos picturing and reading "Joseph W. Bailey Jr. For Senator." These are from his unsuccessful 1934 attempt to get the Democratic nomination for the Senate. One has just a few tiny paint marks and the other some very tiny craze lines in the paint. Group of eight.
