Item Description
Burdick served North Dakota as a Senator from 1960 into 1992. This group begins with a 1-5/8" litho campaign button probably from his last successful election in 1988. The remaining five pieces are from Democratic conventions spanning 1956 through 1964. Two of these pieces carry his Congressional office designation as well as his name and state. The two earliest pieces are from 1956. One is a "Main Floor/Delegate" badge and the other an "Arena/Alternate" badge. Each of these is laminated plastic. The first has a little brown coloration top center caused by the glue that holds the reverse pin. Next is a brass badge with ribbons reading "Alternate 1956" along with the additional information for the event held in Chicago. The next piece is from Los Angeles 1960. At the time of the convention he was a Congressman and the hanger bar of this piece reads "House Of Representatives" with second bar having his name and third naming the state. Next is from Atlantic City 1964. Title on the hanger is " United States Senate" below this are bars with his name and state. The 1956 badge has muted luster while the following two have Mint luster. The last two pieces are unique badges.
