Item Description
First is 1" Hake #2232. This reads "Goldwater/Scranton" and was probably issued early in the 1964 campaign, pre-convention, when Scranton announced he would be willing to accept the nomination for Vice President. He later actively sought the presidential nomination with an announcement June 12, 1964 although Goldwater overwhelmed Scranton's effort winning the nomination on the first ballot. The second button would be post-convention and is a 1.25", unlisted in Hake, reading "Scranton For Goldwater & Miller." Couple of very light rub lines beneath his name which catch reflected light but both pieces display Mint. Julie Powell Collection.
