Item Description
The 3" buttons picturing Obama and Palin each reading "A Winner 2012" use the artwork that first appeared on the "My Hobby" buttons from the McKinley vs. Bryan campaign. On those buttons McKinley was portrayed as Napoleon riding a hobby horse with horse head and on this version Palin replaces McKinley. The Bryan mate had him on a broom with ostrich head and on this version he is replaced by Obama. Each of these was done as a set of ten magic markered on the reverse with this set each reading "5 of 10." These buttons were made early in 2011 in anticipation of the 2012 election and then in September, 2011 the third button picturing Dick Cheney was produced, also limited to around 10 examples, to accompany the other pair. Cheney's button reads simply "My Hobby." All three are Mint as issued. The first time we ran the Obama/Palin pair back in Auction #204 they realized close to $200.00. A pair offered in Anderson in 2011 had a similar result.
