Item Description
Not to be confused w/the smaller tin toy by Line Mar, this toy is 10" tall mostly hard plastic prototype toy w/built-in key and depicts Pluto wearing top hat, horn in mouth and holding pair of metal bells. Complete w/original rubber ears and tail. 1950s. Works and rocks back and forth as Pluto shakes the bells. As is typical w/this toy, the inner bellows mechanism no longer produces a horn sound. This is flocked prototype, which was ultimately not produced in favor of all plastic body toy. Flocking shows scattered wear and bells have trace of oxidation but much silver luster remains. Built-in key is partially painted. Fine. Large and impressive wind-up. Obtained from the Marx factory.
