Item Description
Original cardboard box marked "No. 9000 - Fire Patrol" on both box ends contains 14" long pressed steel fire truck w/hard rubber tires. Marx, 1930s. Several versions of this toy were produced, this version comes w/o windshield as issued and includes two separate painted tin ladders which hang on sides of fire truck. Also includes crank-operated water tower ladder w/black base that pivots. These fire trucks were sometimes issued w/a tin litho fireman driver, but this version does not include driver figure. Rear driver's side tire has metal hand brake. Friction motor works, and when pushed, fire truck produces a siren-like noise. Scattered paint wear w/some flakes to ladders and fenders but o/w unused, old store stock. VF. Box is complete w/all three original cardboard inserts. Box shows wear, w/creases to end flaps, w/one having three 1" tears. Box still retains its shape for the most part. VG/Fine. Rare boxed and complete w/inserts.
