Item Description
.75" with St. Louis Button Co. paper. Stokes became a charter member when a local W.C.T.U. chapter was organized in her home town of Dexter, Mich. She soon became an organizer for the 14th Congressional District which extended into the Ozarks where there were no improved roads and transportation was by farm wagons buggies and carts. In spite of this she was a tireless organizer establishing scores of chapters. Frances Willard then appointed her national organizer, a post she held for 23 years lecturing throughout the country. Only example we've seen and Essentially Mint.
