Item Description
11/16" litho by Greenduck. White background is lightly tanned and front surface has all over tiny craze lines in the paint but almost all paint remains in place. Button includes his birth and death dates "1859/1936." In 1906 he became the Secretary General of the World Zionist Congress and for years traveled in Europe and North America promoting the Zionist cause. He was a leading advocate of the Balfor Declaration of 1917 in which the British government declared its support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. In 1931 he was elected President of the World Zionist Congress and served until 1935 when he was succeeded by Chaim Weizmann (see item 148). Still displays well and with gloss. Rare.
