This is an early version of this kit, issued c. 1939 to the early 1940s. 8x11" certificate has Detective Comics, Inc. copyright but is w/o 1939 date (there is a version w/1939 copyright date). Folded once as issued w/handling wear w/a few scattered creases. Fine/VF. Also included is welcoming letter which has not been folded but has some lt. handling wear w/creases. VF. "Superman's Secret Code" stiff paper folder is unused and has slight aging and thin ring of rust from button collet but is o/w Exc. Comes w/original "Supermen Of America" envelope which has usual and typical wear from mailing and penciling to "Superman" name in return address. War bonds postal mark. Fine. First version "Superman" .75" litho pinback also included in this kit. Reverse of button reads "Read Superman Action Comics Magazine." Button has trace of lt. wear/aging. VF/Exc. From the Robert M.
