Item Description
This item and the next two items as well as item #644 are from the estate of Carl B. Chupp. He was an aviation engineer and his accomplishments include a 1936 patent for a gyrocopter kite. This particular item is a 1.25" button reading "Institute Of The Aeronautical Sciences Inc." Spring pin holds paper on fabric tag with many small creases but clear inscription plus his penciled name, "Rotating Wing Aircraft Meeting/The Franklin Institute/C.B. Chupp." Button is NM displaying Mint and the first we've seen. Rare.
