First is a celluloid button 2.75" long issued by "Board Of Education/The City Of Binghamton." Probably c.1910-1920. Numerous hairline scratches show in reflected light but none particularly deep and the piece still displays well with just a little dust tone on a couple of letters. Second is also 2.75" but silvered brass reading "Newsboy/Registered By/Board Of Education/Syracuse/N.Y." Center has window into which a card could be inserted with the boy's name. Upper edge of window is somewhat dented but more outward than inward so barely detectible from the front and minor overall. The piece still has most of its silver luster. c.1920.
