Item Description
1.5" button from the early years of his career when he was the voice of the minor league Toledo Mud Hens. Button reads "Connie Desmond's/WSPD/Safety Club Member." These are the call letters of the Toledo Ohio station where he started. He was Mel Allen's sidekick in NYC on home games for the Yankees and Giants in 1942. He then left and joined Red Barber on the Dodgers broadcast where he remained until 1956. NM displaying Mint. See next related item.
