Second for same event names location along with "United May Day 2 P.M." Three .25" scratches at center but just catching reflected light. Back paper by Phila Badge. Last is 1.25" historic button reading "Stop War And Dictatorship/Defeat H.R. 1776." Oxidized reverse surface but cello remains NM displaying Mint. By late 1940, Britain was having trouble paying for and transporting war materials they needed to fight Nazi Germany. Churchill appealed to FDR to find a solution and FDR proposed what became known as "H.R. 1776, A Bill Further To Promote The Defense Of The United States And Other Purposes." This was proposed January 10, 1941 and came to be known as the Lend-Lease program. This button was issued by a peace group in opposition. We've seen about four in five decades.
