Item Description
Pair of 9.5x12" sheets of animation paper w/original concept art depicting unused gags intended for cartoons Pluto appeared in. First sheet has 5.25x9.75" image area in lead pencil (w/lt. red pencil coloring to Pluto's body) shows full body image of Pluto eating a string of linked hotdogs, w/handwritten penciled text below reading "Every Time Hot Dog Passes By His Collar, Collar Jumps - Pluto Sucking In Weenies" and has been signed by "Johnny" Cannon, who created this art. This unused gag was probably intended for 1931 cartoon "The Beach Party." Second sheet has 4.75x7-1/8" image area in lead and colored pencil showing full body image of Pluto running on top of a woodpile, logs flying from under his feet. Red colored pencil indicates movement as two other set of legs are drawn. This unused gag was perhaps intended for the 1932 cartoon "The Wayward Canary." Both sheets are lightly aged but art is Exc. A great and funny pair which provide insight as to how Disney animated shorts were developed.
