Item Description
Thin sheet of celluloid 3" tall with horizontal pin on back and name of maker W&H. Additional text on the button front reads "...Plus Many Other Great New Gershwin-Columbia Recordings." Gershwin created this composition in 1924 but this item dates from the 1945 era when the film Rhapsody In Blue, a Gershwin bio-pic, was release with both Levant and Al Jolson appearing as themselves in the film. Levant was noted both for his talent and wit along with his neuroses once wisecracking "There's A Fine Line Between Genius And Insanity. I Have Erased This Line." The only celluloid item we know of to name the great musical talents of either Levant or Gershwin. Exc. and displays Mint. One seen.
