Item Description
2-9/16" (65mm) complete with original loop at top. Listed as Sullivan WWH1840-102 and Hake WWH-3008. Glass center with image surrounded by 3/16" silver mirrored border and reverse is full diameter silvered glass mirror all contained by pewter rim. Silvery luster on pewter about 97% intact, silvering on mirror surfaces about 99% perfect. Only defect is very faint crescent-shaped tan age mark at extreme left of Harrison image, at the most 1.25" deep and 7/8" tall. The mark shows only slightly and is greatly dimished by the otherwise spectacular overall condition. The very sought after pewter rimmed mirrors were made approximately 1824-1848 and the rarity of this Harrison is exceeded only by Adams, Van Buren, Polk and Jackson. Guide value in Hake's 2004 Revised Prices is $5,500.
