Item Description
See previous item #2375. This is the "bronze" edition Joker statue that was sculpted and hand-painted by Kent Melton as a "Proof" as noted by signed sticker on underside of base. Statue depicts Jack Nicholson in his role as Batman's archnemesis The Joker. This and previous item #2375 differ from the fully painted limited edition statues in that not only are they "bronze" versions, but statues have slightly different designs. Joker differs in that he is 1.25" taller, wears a completely different hat and his arms are raised w/his hands held out to the sides as opposed to the painted version which had one hand rested on a cane. This version is w/o cane as designed. Early into production, Jack Nicholson voiced his displeasure w/these "bronze" statues and demanded each be hand-painted. The amount of work that would be required to hand-paint the detailed, multi-colored Joker costume would be prohibitive in both time and effort, so Melton scrapped the whole project. Reportedly there were only five Joker statues produced and they were never made available to the public. NM. Rare.
