Item Description
Lot consists of two sets of three glazed and painted ceramic figurines, measuring 4" to 6.5" tall. Figurines include two each (in two sizes) for Donald Duck, Joe Carioca and Panchito. Mid-1940s. These figures were made by both Shaw and American Pottery. Each in smaller set has incised "Mexico" and Disney copyright text on backs, similar ink stamp marks on underside. Donald has complete Shaw foil sticker on back and moderate crazing w/.25" sliver of glaze off back. Still displays VF. Others have moderate wear to red over-the-glaze paint accents and are o/w Exc. Donald in larger set has remnant of foil sticker on one foot, though company name is not evident. Tiny flake to underside of one foot which is only noticeable when flipped over. Joe and Panchito each have moderate wear to red over-the-glaze paint accents. Panchito has tiny glaze nick to front of his comb. Fine. Rest are VF/Exc. Nice sets.
