Item Description
Lot of six painted and glazed ceramic figurines, four depicting Pluto and two depicting Bruno from "Cinderella." Figurines range from 5" to 6.5" tall. c. 1940s-1950. Produced by Brayton Laguna, Modern Ceramic Products (MCP) of Sydney, Australia and Shaw/American Pottery. First two Pluto figurines are two different poses, one of him looking upward, mouth open as if he is howling while the other is pose w/head lowered to the ground and rear end raised into the air. Second has original store price sticker on underside. Both are Exc. Second pair of Pluto figurines are in same pose, each depicting Pluto w/red collar. Remnants of label on underside of larger one's foot, but both are o/w unmarked. Smaller is scarce. Exc. overall. Last two feature Bruno. First has him lying down w/his paws crossed. Back has American Pottery foil sticker. Scattered wear to green over-the-glaze paint on collar but o/w Exc. Second is unmarked and was produced by both American Pottery and Shaw. While the same molds were used to produce Pluto figurines, this "Bruno" version is in a slightly different paint scheme, including green collars and droopy facial features.
