Item Description
8x10-1/8" program w/26 pages. Published for "Bing Crosby Day" in Front Royal, VA., a one-day event that took place on April 1, 1950 and featured both the world premiere of Crosby's film "Riding High" as well as the dedication of the "Bing Crosby Stadium," which was named after Crosby in honor of his fundraising efforts and direct cash contributions for its construction in 1948-1950. Program features a biography of Crosby w/several bw photos as well as local advertisements including one for Decca Records. Lightly aged w/some faint pinch creases to spine, but o/w VF. First we've seen. Comes w/2.25" dia. rare limited issue button for the event, w/center featuring Crosby's photo set within an aerial view of stadium illustration captioned below "Bing Crosby Stadium Dedication" and the event itself is billed as "World Premier 'Riding High'." Attached 7.5" ribbon reads "Bing Crosby Day - Front Royal, Virginia - April 1, 1950" and "Committee" in large letters. Rare issue and one of the few vintage buttons to picture Crosby. Button is glossy and Exc. while ribbon has some creasing from storage, which is minor. Slight fraying at bottom, but o/w clean and VF.
