Item Description
10.75x15" artboard w/attached paper overlay (top overlay marked "U.S.S. Manchester 1723") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1970s Lindberg 1/600 scale model kit featuring the USS Manchester, a Cleveland Class Light Cruiser of the US Navy, laid down Sept. 25, 1944 and launched March 5, 1946; commissioned Oct. 29, 1946. Initially released in the 1970s, the model was re-released throughout the years, later as a motorized model kit. Art shows the ship in battle at sea, having just shot down a Japanese fighter plane. Art is unsigned, and top margin has "USS Manchester CL 83" text in red pencil, the "CL 83" text referring to the ship's class and hull number. Image area measures 10x15". Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
