Item Description
Large 23-3/8x34.75" artboard w/separate cardstock overlay (top overlay marked "B-238 Natchez") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1960s Pyro Plastics model kit No. B238-800 featuring the US Mail Boat Packet Natchez, a paddle steamer, famously involved in a river race in 1870 w/the Robert E. Lee. While the outcome of that race is still disputed, Natchez is still considered by many to be the fastest packet paddle boat ever. Art shows the ship w/people standing on the dock in the foreground, the ship lit and steaming along, its reflection shining on the surface of the Mississippi. Art is signed by Howard W. Arnold. Large image area takes up nearly the entire artboard, w/thin strips at top and bottom margins. Art has some corner tip and some moderate margin wear and some minor crazing/flaking to spectators at lower left but art remains VF overall and would make for a wonderful display if matted and framed. Impressive model kit art.
