Complete set of eight pinback buttons, ranging in size from 1.25" to 2-1/8" in dia. Set includes four smaller size buttons - Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Sub-Mariner, Thor; 1-3/8" dia. Doctor Doom button; 1.75" dia. Incredible Hulk button; and two larger for Captain America and Spider-Man. All feature Jack Kirby or Kirby-style art. Set was ordered from the 1969 Marvelmania catalog and comes w/a copy of the catalog page advertising these buttons. The buttons were short-printed at production, causing the many who ordered them to have their money returned as the set quickly sold out. Sub-Mariner button has slight trace of surface tarnish to metal back while all other have tiniest trace of aging/wear. All fronts remain bright and glossy. Set is Exc. Single buttons are rare, a complete set is very rare, and this is the only example we've ever offered as such. The few sets we have seen sell elsewhere have all sold in the $3,000 range.
