Item Description
1.25" litho with vertical back pin depicts US Capitol with window cut-out and interior metal panel reading "Here He Is." Top "steeple" is pushed to make either McKinley or Bryan appear. As reverse text explains "Oh Stop Guessing! Presidential Problem Solved. Hold Button So Capitol Is Upright. Press Steeple And Candidate Appearing Most Is A Sure Winner. Inclining capitol slightly to either side, one of the candidates will appear mostly. Elect your choice. Lock Steeple And Wear As A Campaign Button." Front small dent to right of window, 1/16" paint dot off center and 1/8" paint chip off lower left by opening. These are all very minor defects as the paint on this litho was very susceptible to flaking. Minor bit of stain where pin is anchored on reverse. Works properly and overall VF. Probably the very first litho tin mechanical button.
