First is out of print full color version of the "Encyclopedia Of Political Buttons 1896-1972." 8.5x11" reference with nearly 5,000 items shown authored by Ted Hake copyright 1974 with 256 pages. Full color photos of political buttons 1896-1972 plus prices (1974), campaign history, technical facts and statistics. When the soft bound was published in 1974, 100 were specially bound and signed and numbered. Inscription on first blank page reads: "Theodore L. Hake/Book Number 58 Of An Edition Of 100." The fabric over the board has near full length split in the fabric cover along the reverse spine, but the actual binding is fully intact. The cover is VG with NM content. Comes with still available hardbound Book II 1920-1976 & Book III 1789-1916 in black and white. Book II has 2" scratch on front cover top, but otherwise both are NM. Set of three comes with most recent 2004 revised prices booklet. The opening bid equals the current price of the three black/white hard bounds. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
