Item Description
First is 2.25x5.25" from 1856 listed as Hake #3006. Detailed image with Fremont in uniform on horseback recalling his historic pioneering exploration of the American West. Version in black on white silk. "Pathfinder" appears on hillside behind him. Bottom text reads "Free Soil/Free Speech/Free Press/Fremont." Crisp and Mint. Second has text quoted in our title plus election dates of "'56-'60-'64." Ribbon was used by some GOP club c. 1890s-1908. .75x1" slightly darker area over "Lincoln" caused by a sticker once applied to reverse, now removed. Scarce and Fine overall. Julie Powell Collection.
