Item Description
3.25" dia by 4.75" tall figural painted plaster ashtray. Bassons Dummy Products (same maker as items #979-981), 1942. Great caricature likeness of Italian dictator w/wide open mouth which serves as ashtray. "Pts. Pend./1942-A.B." incised on reverse. Underside has original paper label w/"Ram-Bunk-Shus Benito" name and "Musso's Mouth Is Large And Round - The Noise It Makes Is An Awful Sound - Here's A Likeness Of His Face.....Dump Your Refuse In The Proper Place" verse. Face has some small scattered age spots to flesh-colored areas and lt. dust soiling. Hat has a few pinpoint nicks to edges and ear has one tiny nick. Fine/VF overall. Scarce w/original label. Great anti-Axis caricature image.
