Item Description
c. early 1940s. 10.5x13” art board has 9.25x11-7/8” India ink image area w/large eagle swooping down to attack small figure of frightened Hitler standing on swastika. Art is signed in ink “Fred Graf” at bottom w/blue pencil caption on margin “Swooping Down For The ‘Kill’”. Board has minor lt. creasing, otherwise Exc. Graf was long time cartoonist and illustrator for the Long Island “Daily Review of Nassau County” newspaper. Classic scene.
