Item Description
Five archival mats, each 5.5x17.75” w/12.25x12.5” openings w/art on thin art boards. All are signed in ink by creator “J.R. Williams” at lower right. Three are India ink, complete w/N.E.A. syndicate copyright paper strips. Dates and titles are- 12-29-1930 “Why Mothers Get Gray” w/boy trying to rush out after meal, 6-7 1933 “The Work Out” w/boys about to clear junk from baseball field, 4-15-54 “The Worry Wart” w/Wart scared to pitch to girl batter. Last two are unpublished and undated. Both have inked art w/pencil text in word balloons. One is titled “The Upper Crust” w/boys dodging traffic signed in pencil “Jim Williams” at top. The other is “Why Mothers Get Gray” w/mother throwing rag at boy w/dirty hands. All are Exc. Well drawn.
