Item Description
Lot of 18 pencils, between 3.5" and 7.75" long. All are World War II era. Included are five plastic-cased pencils, two mechanical pencils whereas rest are regular wooden pencils. One of the plastic case pencils features great anti-Axis image of Uncle Sam standing over a woozy caricature of Hitler as he advances towards a worried-looking caricature of Tojo. Others feature "V" for Victory images. Lightly aged w/some lt. use to one rubber eraser. VF overall. Rest are unused/unsharpened (w/exception of one which has been sharpened but appears unused). Most do not feature erasers as produced, a few examples noting "Rubber - Once Used For Erasers, Now Used To 'Rub Out' The Japs!" at ends. One pencil has end carved and painted to resemble Uncle Sam, another has double eraser end designed like gavel. Various imprints on pencils w/promotional text. One pencil has small chip out of side and is VG. Others have scattered aging/lt. wear and are Fine-VF. Instant collection.
