Item Description
Razor is 6" long with sides of pastel colored celluloid in many shades of pink and turquoise blue. There is a small bit of damage on the celluloid case 3/8" to the right of the case's end which is opposite the blade hinge. In this area each side of the case has a few shallow groove lines running vertically. Neither side appears to be actually cracked but between the two sides is a white celluloid spacer as made and the edges of this spacer show hairlines of glue repair. The narrow grooves on the case exterior barely show and the tiny damage to the spacer only shows from the underside narrow edge. The piece has beautiful coloration and the blade appears unused and Mint. The thin end of the blade is inscribed "Full Guaranteed 750/Mike Thomas/Boston, Mass." The larger actual blade area has ornate floral engraving against the silvery metal while the images of Wilson, Marshall, The Statue Of Liberty and the flags which flank her are in a gold tone. This rare item is unlisted in Hake and really quite a spectacular example of a jugate campaign razor. In the overall, the tiny damage on this piece is very minor. Only example we know of.
