Item Description
Original Aqua-oil painting on linen fabric that has been mounted on a 8.5x11" board. Painted by Mark Arminski, painting shows Popeye's mysterious magical pet, that first appeared in the March 16, 1936 "Thimble Theatre" comic strip. The Jeep holds a smoldering cigar in his hand, a nod to his creator E.C. Segar's rebus signature. The Jeep also blows rings of smoke out of the corner of his mouth. Arminski has signed his name at lower left. NM. Wonderful image. From the Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
