12x12.5" thick artboard has 6-7/8" dia. image area in center w/monochrome original art of Uncle Sam. ©1940 J.O. Lashar w/"Royalties On This Button Donated To Amer. Red Cross" text around rim top. Button was produced. Trace of lt. dust soiling, image area has circular pencil lines around rim used to produce lettering. Three paste-up photostat stars are missing, leaving lt. glue stains. One is loose. Art remains Exc. 8.75x11" thin artboard has ink text "For Defense Make Sure of Positive Identification For Your Employees" w/image of woman at lower right pointing to badge on her lapel. Comes w/1-3/8x1-7/8" worker photo of woman w/trimmed corners and paint touch-ups at margins. Lower left of artboard has moderate glue staining from missing example badge. Some lt. dust soiling. A few blue pencil editorial notes at lower left/across bottom. Text, art and photo are Fine. Unsure if proposed button was ever produced. Unique art pair.
