Item Description
Gorey was an enthusiastic supporter of the New York City Ballet and these four buttons were created October, 1975 to be sold as fund-raiser merchandise in their gift store. As the website "Goreyana" states "These Buttons Were Usually Made In Very Limited Quantities And Were Sold In Lobby's And Gift Stores At The Event. Extra Buttons Were Usually Sold By The Gothem Book Mart. Even Though They Were Inexpensive Souvenirs, They Can Be Quite Difficult To Find Today, Making Them A Challenging Collectible To Acquire." While the one with the dancer balanced on one hand has a little air showing along the right edge these are all four Mint as made and the only examples we have seen. Marshall Levin Collection. Comes with COA.
