Item Description
1951 premium issued by Powerhouse candy. Top of the ring bands have the word "Flying" on one side plus atomic symbol and stars while other side reads "Saucer" with spaceship and stars. Attached to the top is a launching spinner which needs a generic string replacement. Comes with one of two original "Flying Saucer" disks about 2" in diameter. The one not present is plain aluminum while the other which is present has luminous material on the underside and glows brightly in the dark. Saucer fits onto a small protrusion on the ring top and when the string is pulled it launches rapidly into space. The ring itself has thin line of red paint off the top edge of the wheel that spins but the ring base has much luster. Included is rarely seen 8x10" thin paper sheet giving instructions "To Make Your Flying Saucer Ring Perform Best!" Sheet includes an order blank for additional rings from Post Toasties and this has an expiration date March 31, 1952. Light vertical and horizontal folds on the sheet but totally clean with just a tiny speck of paper missing from the left edge by the word "Step." First we can recall offering.
