Item Description
Original 13x19.5x1" deep illustrated cardboard shipping carton contains six 12x19" die-cut cardboard countertop standees w/easel backs. Shipping box shows obvious and heavy wear w/moisture staining. Just Good/VG, but rare. Standees are for the original 1969 release of this classic album. "Abbey Road" is the 11th studio album released by the The Beatles and their last recorded work. Though "Let It Be" was the last album released before the band's dissolution in 1970, work on "Abbey Road" began in April, 1969. It was released Sept. 26, 1969 in the UK and Oct. 1, 1969 in the US. Die-cut displays featuring the classic album cover of the band crossing Abbey Road are marked "Apple SO-383." Includes list of song titles. Tops of die-cut heads and bottom corners show scattered wear w/some color rubs to tops of heads and small creases at corners as well as to die-cut heads/necks. There is some scattered age spotting on the backs and some moisture staining along bottom edges. NOne of these issues show through onto fronts. Fine/VF. Great display pieces. Our only other example of these standees that we have ever sold realized $506 for a single display. Rare, more rare as boxed.
